Sponsor-A-Ride Transportation
Eligibility/Overview
Sponsor-A-Ride is dedicated to offering transportation for community members who are not otherwise eligible for other transportation assistance programs, while providing friends, family, and the community an easy way to contribute to ride costs.
When you request a ride, we find the type of transport best suited to your abilities, locate the lowest-cost option given your needs, and arrange for service with our providers. The most common types of transportation services include:
- Door-to-door rides
- Bus passes
We can arrange transportation for individuals or groups to:
- Healthcare appointments
- Grocery shopping
- Shopping centers
- Recreational activities
Scheduling a Ride
To allow us time to schedule your ride, please call our office at least two working days before your scheduled appointment or other need. We can take requests up to 14 days in advance. Unexpected delays may occur due to extreme traffic congestion, road construction, or weather conditions.
What to have when you call:
- Date of birth
- Pick-up address
- Destination name, address, and phone number
- Date(s) and time(s) of needed ride
- Information on any assistive equipment or mobility devices you use
If you need to cancel a ride, please call us as soon as possible, but at least two business hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
Funding
This program is funded purely through community donations. Individual accounts can be funded by family and friends.
Deposit funds for a friend or loved one for transportation to medical, social, or other appointments.
