A Fond Farewell to RSVP, Newsletter
As we concentrate our full efforts on providing vital community transportation, we’ve had to make some difficult decisions. One of these was to discontinue our sponsorship of the RSVP Newsletter. By directing all our resources on our core mission, we will be better able to serve our most vulnerable populations.
On behalf of the Human Services Council’s (HSC) Board of Directors and staff we would like to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers and non-profits in Clark County who have partnered with HSC to support RSVP since 2005, and for helping community nonprofits flourish by engaging volunteers over the age of 55 to accomplish their organizational missions.
Since 2005, RSVP volunteers have given thousands of hours of their time, talents and resources to support local non-profits at a value of over $1 million dollars each year.
Over the past six-months, HSC’s Board of Directors and Leadership Team have undergone extensive strategic planning efforts and through this process made the very difficult, but necessary decision to wrap up HSC's sponsorship of RSVP effective March 31, 2020. HSC is currently in the process of realigning its core mission to focus on community transportation to better serve seniors, people with disabilities, veterans and other at-risk populations in Southwest Washington to access essential transportation services, information and resources to live healthy and independent lives.
