Specialty Transportation Driver Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services in a manner that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and supports equitable access for passengers with disabilities.
• Safely operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and agency policies.
• Transport passengers to scheduled destinations in a safe, timely, comfortable, and courteous manner.
• Provide personalized door-to-door assistance as appropriate while maintaining passenger dignity and independence.
• Safely operate the wheelchair lift.

Specialty Transportation Driver Requirements

• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and insurance.
• Complete and maintain PASS, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
• Must pass fingerprint level background check.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug (including marijuana) and alcohol screening.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and maintain a DOT certification.

• One or more years driving passengers,
• Some college level course work, or
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
